UMD Maintains Top 10 Spot as a Best Value Public College

For the ninth consecutive year, UMD has ranked in the top 10 among public universities for in-state value in Kiplinger's Personal Finance's list of the Best College Values.

UMD Alumna Will Be First African-American to Become Space Station Crew Member: Soon after Jeannette J. Epps M.S. '94, Ph.D. '00 lifts off aboard a Russian rocket in May 2018, she'll become the first African-American astronaut as well as the first UMD graduate to live and work as a crewmember on the International Space Station.
